...because I am taking up "Pole Dancing" as a hobbie and fitness routine!

*hides*

Recently I have been on this Pink Patch DIET in a bid to get back to a size 10 (uk) before my 41st birthday! Yes I am being very optimistic here! LOL!!! But so far I have lost a stone and have already dropped a dress size...so I have been looking all over the internet for the best ways to tone what could be a saggy 40 year old body, and I have concluded the best way (heaps of women recommend it!!) is Pole Dancing! So I have just bought my first home pole kit from a reputable seller on ebay at a cost of £50! Now where am I going to put my pole? you may ask! Well best place for me is my livingroom as I am at home most of the day and my other 3 bedrooms are either taken up or have no room, and my kitchen is quite small as is my dining room, so living room it is...Now what is a 40 year old woman doing taking up pole dancing in the first place...well as our bodies get older we have to put in more effort to keep in shape (I hate being fat, or even too thin come to that) so with my pink diet I thought "wait a minuite...I may loose the weight but at my age it might not tone back into place like it did in my 20's!" During my early 20's I was virtually anaorexic weighing just 7 stones (about a stone and a half underweight for my height) and it realy upset me one day when my Dad said "For friggs sake eat a bag of chips will you!! your neck looks like a scrawney chicken" and that kind of brought me down to earth a bit, but shortly after that I had a breast cancer scare (a very nasty one) and I dident eat at all because I was so worried sick...On the other extream I have been up to 13 stone (mostly drinking too much beer) and hated it so at the begining of this year I heard about the patch and I am now determained to get back to my size 10 figure by my birthday!!!
Yes...but why pole dancing?
Well my favorite form of excersize is dance ( I was a bit of a raver in my youth) so I do dance for a couple of hours every week to try and keep in shape, but I feel that middle age spread is beating me which is not fair becuase I only thought that happened to women who had children, and its a shame because I have not had any kiddies! Now I know I will not get back the peitie tiny firgure that once bopped all over the dance floors at Mr Smiths nightclub in Warrington (now called Synergy) but I am hopefull to get back to a healthy size 10, and I am hoping Pole dancing will help me achieve this...I am confident I will learn as I am still quite a good dancer, and I still go hiking and walking so I should not have much of a problam with it...The pole I have ordered is a removable one so its not permenently stuck up in my living room (would spoil my Doctor Who collection lol) and it just requires one bolt through the cieling into the joiced which is easy enough (Yes I can use a drill very well) and there is an internal spring in the pole which causes friction beween the floor and the cieling thus holds the pole firmly in place so I will be able to learn lifts and twirls on it, Oh and it comes with a pole dancing cd too! My out fit (I have two now) well they are both all in ones. dance outfits, one is black with spagettie straps and a huge retro looking diamantie waist belt that is low slung. The other kind of resembles a school uniform (LOL) with a pleated check miniskirt that should flare nicely when I am doing a routine!...oh and my shoes are 6 inch platorm stilletoes in silver (pretty standard for pole dancing) well I do have to get the look right, dont I *giggles*...I have even burned some sexy, ambient dance tracks to a cd so I can practice (mostly Moby)...and yes!! I am looking forward to it!
Ok, optimisiam is my best buddie at the moment!
...but I did read somewhere that a lady of 75 attended Pole dance classes........so I suppose there is hope for me yet!

and Colin...before you ask...I WILL do some photos if I can! Watch this space! ;-)
